Program Overview

Mining engineering is an interdisciplinary field that involves applying elements of geological, geotechnical, chemical sciences and basic engineering, together with management skills in the challenge of extracting and processing minerals from a deposit naturally occurring either on or below the ground surface. The challenges of mining today are to develop innovative methods that make tomorrow’s mines in the region more productive, safer, and economically successful, as well as to mitigate the damage to the environment.

Purposes of Master of Engineering Program in Mining Engineering Program 

  1.  To produce university postgraduates who have knowledge in theoretical and practical aspects in the field of Mining Engineering. In addition, these university postgraduates should be able to apply the knowledge and experience from research work to the mining industries properly and effectively.
  2. To produce quality and moral university postgraduates who can serve the country help developing the organization by utilizing their knowledge properly and suitability for the environments.
  3. To produce university postgraduates (Thais and people in international students) who have abilities in doing research, analyzing and integrating their knowledge in the area of Mining Engineering that will be the basis of self-supported technology in the future

Admission Qualifications

  • Plan A1
  1. To be in accordance with the Chiang Mai University Announcement on Admission in each academic year.
  2. Earn bachelor of Mining Engineering with an honor. As alternative, the applicants must have at least 2 years working experiences in mining engineering or related area.
  3. Earn bachelor of Engineering or bachelor of Sciences and must have at least 3 years working experiences in mining engineering.
  4. Be able to study in the courses that are taught in English.

  1. To be in accordance with the Chiang Mai University Announcement on Admission in each academic year.
  2. Earn a bachelor of Engineering or bachelor of Science.
  3. Be able to study in the courses that are taught in English.

Tuition fee expense per student for entire program

  • Thai & CLMV Countries Student: 120,000 THB
  • Other Foreign Student: 200,000 THB
