The student outcomes of the program are defined based on the ABET criteria for the long-term development of technical competency and professional capabilities in mining engineering profession.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-1<\/strong> An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, sciences, and mathematics.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-2<\/strong> An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-3<\/strong> An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-4<\/strong> An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economics, environmental, and societal contexts.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-5<\/strong> An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-6<\/strong> An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze, and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SO-7<\/strong> An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mining Engineering program is an outcome-based education program.
